Environmental Stewardship Recognition – This is the yearly P3 student application that includes the awards ceremony. It is for BCPS students who show evidence of promoting civic responsibility, environmental stewardship, and education of environmental issues. The metrics of this category include:

How to apply - STUDENT APPLICATION

Student applications must be completed by a BCPS teacher or staff member (however students can collaborate with you).

There are 2 ways to send in your application (you can use both or just the Canvas version). What’s the difference between the two ways?

ArcGIS Survey123 app - You can take pictures using your device (phone, tablet, or computer) and directly send them to support your application. However, your collaborators have to send in pictures via their own account. This Survey 123 form is ideal to submit pictures towards your P3 application but for a complete application, open up a Canvas application form.

Canvas application – you can have collaborators working on the same application but you have to upload the pictures. The rubric is embedded in the application form.

1) Via ArcGIS Survey123 app you can access through your phone or your computer. You can take pictures (real-time) and send them towards your application. This Survey 123 form is ideal to submit pictures from your phone towards your P3 application but for a complete application, open up a Canvas application form.

If it asks you for your organization’s name, enter browardschools. Then click the Broward Schools blue bar and login using your P# and password.

2) Via Canvas (this Canvas course). We'll create an application page for your nominee under Opened Applications or Collaborations. Send an email to browardstem@browardschools.com with the following information:

Your name and email address (and the names and email addresses of any collaborators) – must be @browardschools.com email address
Nominee's name(s) or school name
Stewardship category (student).

Once we receive your info for the Canvas page, look under the Opened Applications or Collaborations link (left side of Canvas) to see your nominee’s name. You and your collaborators should be able to access the page(s). Click it and it should open up as a Word document. You can edit it online or open it in your desktop app - see image below, the pull-down menu is under Edit Document.

The first paragraph should be a short summary of the nominee with his/her picture that will be used for the awards ceremony program. See examples here.
The next paragraphs should address the metrics as provided in the rubric. Download the student rubric for more details.
Embed any applicable pictures and documentation in the application document. Take a picture of the documentation so you can insert it.
You can submit your letter(s) of recommendation via Assignment or you can embed it as a picture in your application document.
