When registering for grades 6th, 7th, and 8th, your Counselor will assess your academic history.

Your academic history consists of the courses you took, the academic rigor of those courses, your grades, your attendance record, and examinations you may have taken. If there were gaps in your education, they may ask more questions to understand your academic history better.

This academic assessment by your Counselor is conducted to determine the best classes for you. Whether or not you speak English is not taken into consideration. All teachers are capable of assisting you in your classes while you learn English. Your academic success is more than just how much English you know. It's about your willingness to learn and try your best! Remember, you are not alone on this journey, and if you need more help, don't be shy and ask for it!

Different levels of courses are offered in Middle School: Regular, Advanced, and High School Level. Students recommended for Advanced and High School courses were placed based on teacher recommendations and test scores. Those classes are more rigorous and are taught at a faster pace than regular classes. The High School level classes will award credits towards your high school diploma.

If you like to play sports or are interested in any special activities such as music or theatre, ask if they have any special programs or courses at the school. If you like, you can participate in activities available after school, such as a sports team, a theatre production, a band, or a choir.
