Mental Health Support and Resources
You can speak to your Counselor or any adult at the school if you have any concerns, especially if someone is bothering you, hurting you, or threatening you.
When you meet with a Counselor, the information you discuss is confidential. In other words, what you share with your Counselor stays with your Counselor. The only times when your Counselor needs to break confidentiality are when you are in danger of harming yourself or others or if someone may be harming you. By law, a Counselor must report any suspected abuse to ensure your safety.
If you feel depressed or sad and something is bothering you, you can speak with your Counselor freely. They may recommend someone you can talk with, such as a Family Counselor, who can have several sessions to work on specific problems you are dealing with.
We also have resources available in our district to assist you. Broward County Public Schools can help students at risk of suicide.
If you or a friend is depressed or despairing, please get help.
