Course Syllabus

Quarter 4- June 1-9, 2021

This school year has been anything but normal but you all made it through and are stronger, more resilient and hopefully a little wiser as a result.  You will look back on this time and tell your children stories that start with "Once when I was your age. . .".  I am very proud of you because you survived a pandemic, something that your parents and most of your grandparents and even great grandparents have never experienced.  While I hope you persevered academically this school year, if you did not do as well as you hoped, do not give up.  Take the summer to recharge and come back next year with a vengeance, ready to recover.  If you are participating in summer school for recovery, please make your best effort.  If you need anything between now and the last day of school, please let me know.  Otherwise, be sure to tie up any loose ends so that you can earn the best grades possible as we close out the year.  Have a great summer!

Why You Should Tell Someone You're Thankful for Them | Zipwhip

Gators, this has been a very difficult time for many of us for many different reasons.  I am missing my family that I can't see, the weddings that I missed, the parties and celebrations that I can't attend.  However, I try to focus on the positives and everything that I am thankful for.  I am thankful for my family, for my students, for the good health of my family and students.  With the holidays approaching, be sure to take the time to reflect on everything that you have rather than what you don't have or are missing out on.  Also, know that I am here for you.  Not only to provide academic support and guidance but if you need to talk, vent, are feeling frustrated or sad.  I am here.  Simply send me a message, call/text and we can chat.  Be well.  Be happy and be productive.

Mrs. Eves Student Support 2020-2021

Please read. . . .

WELCOME!

Gators new and old welcome back to the swamp for an exciting school year among all of this craziness!  I will miss seeing you all and I am especially sad about not being able to meet my 9th-grade students in person.  However, I am looking forward to getting to know you in our hopefully temporary virtual world.

INTRODUCTION

Let me take a moment to tell you a little about myself.  I have been teaching for 21 years.  I taught middle school math and reading until I graduated to high school where I taught Algebra for several years before accepting a position as a support facilitator in 2007.  I am married to a music teacher and we have 2 children, ages 13 and 10 and we are all home, together and E-learning-FUN! My hobbies include boating, waterskiing, reading, and yelling at my kids (they typically don't hear me unless I am screaming like a crazy person!!)  I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA but began my teaching career in Florida so that I could teach by the beach!

So now, please tell me a little about you.  Whether you are new to EHS or an Upperclassmen, I would like to get to know you a little better.  If you complete the form below (all 3 fields in each and section), your name will be entered into a raffle to win a $10 Amazon Gift card.  You must complete the form and upload it in the "Assignments" tab.  You may complete the form electronically and upload, you can print/write/upload or you may type your answers in the text box.  The assignment will be open for you to complete for 1 week (due 8/26/20 at 12am).

Get to Know Me for Students-Eves Support.pdf

RELAX

So this whole E- learning thing is new to all of us and I expect that we will have a few hiccups along the way.  Relax and take a deep breath.  We will get through this together.  I am here to support you and advocate for your needs.  Attend your classes every day and keep up so that you don't have to play catch-up.  Be sure to do something every day that makes you happy.  Take care of you and be sure to move around, get exercise, and take a break from the screen now and then.

COMMUNICATION

I will keep a running post on this home page with news, updates, reminders, tools, helpful resources, etc.  I ask that you take a few minutes each day to read the daily posts.  If you happen to miss a day, you will start at the top and scroll down until you are all caught up. I will be reaching out to you individually to review your progress, address any concerns, and assist you with anything that you may need.  I will create a schedule so that you can expect to hear from me at certain times.  I will be reaching out during your study hall and/or elective times.  Please see my contact information below should you need anything at all from me.  Note that I may post information in the FILES tab so that you can access resources that I post.

QUESTIONS/COMMENTS/CONCERNS

I am here for you to help you with anything that you may need.  PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, and concerns.  We are in this together and as a team, we will survive!
